Chitin

Chitin (pronounced "KITE-in") is a semitransparent material that forms the hard outer shell (exoskeleton) of insects, arachnids, centipedes, crustaceans and related creatures.

Chitin bends easily and naturally recovers to its original shape. It is quite tough and is often used for making armour or other sturdy materials.
