These are the main forms of currency used in the Tyr region.

A lead bead is one tenth of a bit

A bit is one tenth of a ceramic piece.

A Ceramic piece is one tenth of a silver piece. A ceramic piece is cut into 10 equal sections, which can be easily broken off to form a bit.

A Silver piece is one tenth of a gold piece.

A Gold piece is one tenth of a platnuim piece.

A Platinum piece is equal to 1,000 ceramic pieces.

Lead beads are small lead beads, slave change.

Bits are small ceramic wedges that are broken off from Ceramic pieces.

Ceramic pieces differ in appearence from City-State to City-State, but all of these share the common characteristic of being cut, and easily broken off into, 10 equally-sized wedges.

Silver pieces are small silver coins.

Gold pieces are slightly larger gold coins.

Platinum pieces are coins of platinum, and are hard to come by.

[edit] Dark Sun Currency Conversions

Some conversions are needed for the purpose of buying goods in the Dark Sun campaign world. Items that are made of metal are instead made of different materials, but to buy a metal item (a rare happening), take it's actual price in Gold, not Ceramic.

A lead bead is the equivelent of a Copper piece in other campaign worlds.

A bit is the equivalent of a Silver piece in other campaign worlds.

A Ceramic piece is the equivalent of a Gold piece in other campaign worlds.

A Silver piece is the equivalent of a Platinum piece in other campaign worlds.

A Gold piece has no monetary equivalent in other campaign worlds, nor does the platinum piece.
